There’s a story called “All God’s Chillun Got Eyes” by E. Franklin Frazier. I’m not familiar with his other work. In the story, an African-American man goes to a white eye-doctor in a Jim Crow building (set in the 30’s, I think.) After refusing to ride in the segregated elevator, he meets the doctor and the doctor refers to the narrator, a college professor, by just his last name. The narrator sees this as horrible disrespect hearkening back to slavery and believes the doctor knows exactly what he is doing. He is then panicked that this doctor will not treat his eyes well, or worse.
So yeah, this caption says Obama (who is the President of the United States of America) has a heated argument with the Arizona Governor (her title). Note, also, the active voice and who is the actor. This is intentional. Matt Drudge is intentionally casting the black man as the agressor against the blonde, white woman, and he is intentionally using Obama’s last name not his title. Because Matt Drudge uses racial politics to manipulate the voters, and more directly, the reader.
Matt Drudge is ruining our country.
